Having built my wooden Vespa, I realize that it misses a valid wooden anti-theft system. I made my usual internet research and I discover that some DIY lovers made nice wooden padlocks, that are also documented in books and videos on the net. Therefore, I purchase the book "Making working wooden locks" by Tim Detweiler. The book, in addition to describing the construction techniques, reports also detailed plans and procedures to realize five types of fully functional padlocks. I get involved in the challenge and, without any hurry and patiently, I spend a winter to build these ingenious little jewels; the main difference between Tim’s and mine is that these are made on a reduced 50% scale. However they all work and when you close them, you may listen to a very harmonious and captivating click. I also made an exclusive and solid wooden chain to lock my Vespa.
