My Triumph SD sidecar body replica was not accepted by the Italian vintage bike (ASI) commission, because not sufficiently conform to the period sidecars. It becomes necessary to rebuild it; so I found the dimensions of an original Gloria body and I start my works.

To build a sidecar body is not an easy challenge. Being confident of my previous experiences in building my wooden sea kayak, I decide to make the body employing wood and plywood.  I elaborate the necessary drawings and I start the construction.

Most challenging parts result to be to model the profiles of the corners and to choose the proper color, that, after many thoughts, results to be the famous “Parma violet”.  At the end the body is over and my sidecar is fully accepted by ASI.
